April 2024 care update
Mariam’s care journey has included hospital visits, treatment for wounds, and follow-up support after surgery. Her recovery has required patience, skilled medical attention, and continued care from her mother and the St. Jude Africa team.
Some wounds did not heal as quickly as expected, which created new health concerns and the need for closer medical review. This update is part of the same care pathway described in Mariam’s wheelchair story: medical care, mobility support, school access, and family follow-up working together.
