Our story
From local concern to an organized care response.
St. Jude Africa Children’s Foundation was founded in 2019 to respond to children and families facing disability, illness, poverty, and urgent care needs in Uganda.
In 2020, the organization was recognized by Jinja City Local Government as a community-based organization with permission to operate. That local base still matters: the team works close to families, schools, caregivers, and community partners.
Today, St. Jude Africa supports children through medical care, rehabilitation, education support, shelter-related needs, nutrition, counseling, emergency help, and family follow-up. The story is not built around one event. It is built around showing up, returning, and helping a child move forward over time.
2019Founded for vulnerable children. The foundation began with a focus on children living with disability, poverty, medical needs, and family vulnerability.
2020Recognized locally in Jinja. Local government recognition helped organize the work around community-based care.
NowCare across connected needs. Field visits, school outreach, medical follow-up, caregiver support, and donor-funded help work together.
