Our Principle
St. Jude Africa Children’s Foundation aims to represent children and families with respect. We avoid sensational language, exploitative imagery, unnecessary personal details, and any story use that could increase stigma, risk, or harm.
Consent And Review
When child images or stories are used, the foundation should seek appropriate caregiver consent and child assent whenever possible. Consent should explain where the story or image may appear and should be reviewed when content is prominent, sensitive, or outdated.
Media And Storytelling
- Use real context and avoid staging a child as a symbol of suffering.
- Prefer group, care, school, community, and progress images for main website pages.
- Limit medical or crisis details to what is necessary and respectful.
- Remove or update content when a child, caregiver, or safety review requires it.
Reporting Concerns
Concerns about child safety, image use, story consent, or website content may be emailed to stjudeafricacf@gmail.com. Reports should be handled promptly and with care for privacy and safety.
This statement is a website-level safeguarding commitment. The foundation should maintain a fuller internal child protection policy for staff, volunteers, partners, field visits, media collection, and incident response.
