Our Trip to Kisiima Islands
The Kisiima Islands outreach took St. Jude Africa Children’s Foundation across Lake Victoria to support children, girls in school, families of children with disabilities, and school nurses with practical supplies.
The St. Jude Africa team travelled by boat to the Kisiima Islands to check on children and families living in island communities and to provide school, hygiene, and medical support.
Outreach across Lake Victoria
Before the visit, the foundation prepared scholastic materials, including mathematical sets, pens, and pencils. Sanitary pads were also provided for girls, supporting health, dignity, and continued school attendance.
After arriving on the island, the team visited Kisima 1 and Kisima 2 Primary Schools. School staff welcomed the foundation, and the visit included conversations with girls about menstrual health before sanitary pads were distributed.
