In October 2022, St. Jude Africa Children’s Foundation marked another year of service with school outreach in Uganda, bringing practical supplies, encouragement, and dignity-centered care to children, teachers, and caregivers.
On October 22, 2022, the St. Jude Africa team visited Spire Road Primary School, Kisima 1 Primary School, and Kisima 2 Primary School with supplies and encouragement for children, teachers, and caregivers.
October 2022 field update
The outreach focused on practical help that supports learning, dignity, food security, and inclusion. The team carried school and household items that could meet immediate needs while also reminding children that they are seen and valued.

Geometry sets and school materials helped pupils prepare for classwork and exams.
Sanitary pads helped girls attend school with more confidence and fewer interruptions.
Maize flour, beans, shoes, and clothing helped meet immediate school and family needs.
Care in motion

What the outreach provided

Inclusion at Spire Road Primary School
The team also visited Balitwegomba Complex Home of Blind Children under Spire Road Primary School. That part of the visit mattered deeply because disability does not remove a child’s dignity, value, or hope for the future.
St. Jude Africa’s work today continues to carry that lesson through school support, child care, mobility support, medical follow-up, and family care across Uganda.
