Girls with their sanitary pads that they received from St. Jude
It was an exciting time for us at St. Jude Africa Children’s Foundation. We embarked on a trip to Kisiima Islands in Lake Victoria, to check on some of the children on the islands. We purchased scholastic materials like mathematical sets, pens, and pencils, and we also got some sanitary pads for the girls.
After a few hours on the boat, we set foot on Kisiima. We were welcomed and went straight to the primary schools: Kisiima 1 and 2 Primary Schools. Our team was greeted by school staff, and we began our tour by meeting girls for a quick talk about menstrual health and handing over of sanitary pads.
We were also able to go to and see some families of disabled children and we gifted them with some scholastic materials. We also supported the nurses of these schools by giving them some medical supplies. We believe that such items can help the children in the long run.
